God's Country
Andy decided this morning he was going to go scouting for geese. He describes the above picture he took this morning God's Country. Andy decided to take Kali out for a little Daddy & Daughter time. They had a blast scouting for geese. She had the binoculars out and everything. After that they went to McDonalds and had a snack, went to Cabelas, and then shopping at Cub.
Cody and I had the morning at home. We went for a long walk this morning with Riley and then to church. It was perfect morning!

First Day of Preschool
Kali's first day of preschool went well. Andy and I creatively figured out how one of us could leave work to bring her and one of us could pick her up on her first day there. She was very excited when I picked her up from Lisa's to bring her, but by the time we walked in the room she was a little nervous. She quietly leaned into me and said Mommy, I really want to stay..I told her I couldn't stay and she gave me three big hugs and kisses, but no tears. I however had a few in my eyes as I got back into my car! :(
Andy picked her up and she was beaming ear to ear.
Her teacher sent me this note today:
Kali did excellent today. Usually our Friday group takes a little more time to warm up to us being they are only here once a week. But todays group already seemed very comfortable! Kali has a fun personality that I think will be a wonderful fit for our group. We spent about a 1/2 hour outside and she was busying running around the whole time so hopefully she is tired out for you guys tonight :)
I was a little sad that I couldn't hear all about it..so being the awesome lady Lisa is, Kali and Lisa wrote me this email..( I told you Lisa was the best..)
To Mommy
From Kali
Hi Mommy,
Today in preschool we….”played, have snack, teddy grahams, played with toys, I have two teachers, played with some cars and legos, liked the playground”.
“I like to go to the store with my mommy.”
I want to say I love her.
Cody played really hard today.
Love, Kali
She is already asking about next Friday!!

First Day of School
I have been teaching for 10 years. Wow...am I old or what? 10 years in 3rd grade and I still get nervous the night before the first day. The first day is kind of nerve wracking for the kids, teachers, and even the principal! But it does get easier. Today went so smooth. I have 23 kids in my class and we had a great first day together.
As for the new principal of the house, he also had a good first day with a few minor glitches, but nothing major ( Thank Goodness!) He still isn't home yet, and it after 9:00 PM, but I did talk to him and all went well.
Our own kids walked Lisa's kids to the bus stop this morning and my little 3 year old going on 13 could have hopped right on that school bus to school. This is the email I received for Lisa about 8:00 AM this morning:
Kali couldn’t have been cuter at the bus stop. Will try to download at nap. Kali stood with the big kids in line – I wondered if she’d try to get on. She was cute and happy and saying goodbye to all the kids. She thought this was a perfect was to start the day! Cody sat in his stroller and ate food. Fun morning!
Tonight we came home and played in Kali's play kitchen, below is one picture that Kali took...pretty good huh??

Some new cute pictures
It is Labor Day weekend and we are enjoying the time at home. Here are some pictures of the weekend so far..
Kali and Cody reading books together in Cody's room. How studious!
And then Kali being silly!
We went to the first home football game game last night. The kids had a blast. Kali sitting with her daddy!
Kali was playing outside with the neighbor girls and they included Cody and told him he was the dad. They came him all the babies to watch. I will be saving it to show his wife someday. Isn't it cute!

Preschool Open House
Tomorrow is the big preschool open house. It is at 4:00 tomorrow, so we will be picking the kids up from daycare and going there to see Kali's new school and meet her teacher. I had a million questions from her tonight. Here are a few good ones:
We are going to my school tomorrow? Who is bringing me? Are you all ( Mom, Dad, and Cody) going to school? What do we do at open house? See my new room? Can Cody come too, or is he too little? Are we going to stay? Who is going to pick me up? When does it start? Can we go now?
A bit excited..I will bring the camera tomorrow and let you know how it goes!
