Dream Team BBQ

My team that I work with at school is awesome. Always has been....hopefully always will be. We have named our team the dream team. When I say team I mean the other third grade teachers I work with. Throughout the years we have always added sections of new classes when our enrollment has gotten larger and then lost some sections when new buildings have opened or numbers of kids went down. But for the past 8 years or so we have stayed pretty stable with the core group of us. Below is a picture of us taken at Nick's wedding this summer:

Left to Right:

Emily, Katie, Tim, Nick, Brandi, and Kelly

As you can see we are all about the same age and all are now married and have kids the same age. It is awesome working with your friends that are going through the same life stages as you. This is another way I feel so blessed, I love my job and the people I work with every day.

So tonight we had our annual back to school BBQ with our team at Emily's. It was blast. Here are all the kids..aren't they cute??

Welcome back Team! Love you guys!

One of those days..

Today was one of the those days were being a mom was tough. My kids are usually really good kids..but today wasn't one of those days. They picked one each other, didn't listen, and cried...ALOT. It was exhausting. Now, they are both asleep and I am feeling sorry for being a little short with them today because today was my last day of summer. Tomorrow, I go back to work and I am excited, but just wish today was a better last day. Oh well, we all have them!

First Family Night at the Shack

Earlier this month we spent our first night as family at the shack. Now I haven't been to the shack in almost 2 years and Andy and his brothers have been working on it a lot. It is pretty much a nice cabin with no indoor plumbing. It is brand new with a huge kitchen, dining room, living room, and 4 bedrooms in the back for Andy and his 3 brothers. The walls in the family room are covered with cedar and they just stained them. It is really nice. I was so impressed. The most impressive part to me is that they built it all by themselves. It is a great hunting shack for them and we enjoyed our first family night there having hot dogs, going for 4 wheeler rides, roasting marshmellows, and eating smores. (YUM!)

I loved to see Andy in his element there. He truly loves it and is very proud of it.

Riding a Bike....already

We were at my friend Emily's the other day and Cody tried riding Marek's little bike because he got a bigger one, and he did pretty well. She told me to take it home and let him try again. Well, he has done quite well. He still needs a little help with the brakes, but he is only 2! What a big boy!

Here is the video, the kids are pretending they are on a train..pretty funny! Have I mentioned how awesome living on a cul-de-sac is!

A Pretty Boy..

My husband is a manly man..he hunts and fishes and to say the least isn't the most amused when his son comes up the stairs looking like this.

I insist to him it is just because he admires his four year old sister and will not be dressing like this in a few years, but Andy still couldn't believe I took a picture of it that later could be used as blackmail at graduation or his wedding. I think it is pretty cute that he loves his sister and wants to be like her. What do you think?
