First Week of Soccer

So many thoughts were going through my head as we entered our first "sport" as parents. Kali has done swimming, dance, and gymnastics and they can all be considered sports, but this would be the first organized team sport. She started on Monday with her new soccer gear..I have to admit I was a little in the dark about soccer. They didn't have soccer in Ely when we were growing up..so shin guards, cleats, soccer socks, the right size ball..all seemed a little overwhelming for me to buy for our not yet 5 year old daughter. But we got it all figured out.

I arrived at the soccer fields to find it crawling with people..and cars. There is one way in and out of the complex with 16 different fields all playing games at the same time..so hundreds of people leaving and coming at the same time as they start the next round of games right after the first and another after that....it is CRAZY!!

Did Kali love it?? Yes..she did...but was a bit disappointed that she the green jersey color rather than cute pink or purple one..but she seems to be over it.

It has been fun to watch her week..and man she looks old...which makes me feel old!

Kali's Graduation

Even though we aren't sending her to kindergarten..I got a little choked up at the preschool graduation, it was so cute..can only imagine how fast time will fly and she will be graduating from high school....here are some of the pictures..

Today Cody looks at me across the table at lunch and completely out of the blue says.."Mommy, your hair is just beautiful!"

What a sweet little boy just like his daddy..:) He is going to make one lucky lady a darn good husband one day.

Outside

I love this time of the year..almost as much as the kids..they love being outside. We play outside for hours and hours. We have had a garage sale the past 2 days at our house for our church and our kids have had a blast being outside with all the other kids from our small group and are exhausted. There has been 10+kids in and out of our house.. It is 7:20 AM on Friday morning and both are still sleeping..( normal for Kali..not for Cody!!)

Zoo Field Trip

Kali had a preschool field trip to the zoo on Thursday and Nana went with her. They had a great time despite the rain. The pictures are a little small..but you get the idea.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day is a special day to remind me of how blessed I am to have 2 sweet healthy little kids and a wonderful husband who makes Mothers Day so special. Sleeping in, flowers, a special breakfast with an omelet, toast, bacon and OJ, Skim Vanilla Latte with the Sunday paper,and necklaces with the kids names and birth-dates on them. It also reminds me how blessed I am to have an amazing mother who has loved me and supported me all my life and still does. I often think of all my friends and family that lost their mothers and say a little prayer for them today..as it is special day for them too but a tough day for them as well..
